The purpose and design of “Bridging the Gap” is to establish and maintain a network of A.A. volunteers who will accept the responsibility of making initial contact with a person requesting an introduction to Alcoholics Anonymous when he or she leaves a facility of recovery. That facility may be a Detox Center, Hospital, Treatment Center, PHP or IOP. The A.A Volunteer will give that person an immediate introduction to local meetings in their area of residence (currently this may be either at in-person meetings or virtual platform). This program can only be initiated by a Counselor.
HOW IT WORKS:
While in a facility or program, the patient is given our brochure ( For AA's on the Inside) explaining the Temporary Contact Program by the Counselor. In turn the Counselor will get in touch with the Bridging the Gap Coordinator by email or by filling out online form.
